“My experience with NLA goes back more than ten years and has included a number of instances where NLA consultants have delivered beyond expectations. They have helped us and our clients solve difficult problems, as well as delivered results with improvements that were easily implemented. I find NLA to be staffed with experienced professionals that quickly get to the core issues and deliver quick, understandable, and real results."

NLA is best in class when it comes to transportation - air, land, and sea. Several of our world class consultants have been senior executives in transportation enterprises prior to transitioning to the management consulting arena. NLA can add high value for any organization that owns or operates transportation assets:

  • Optimizing asset utilization
  • Routing and scheduling trucks, and reducing empty miles
  • Engineering accountable and cost effective infrastructure

Successes Include

  • Conducted exhaustive analysis of fleet operations for major food manufacturer/distributor, and concluded a 25% fleet reduction thru dynamic routing of direct to store delivery operations. Negotiated with major equipment leasing company to restructure equipment leases that enabled the downsizing on the one hand, and on the other, replaced underperforming assets with newly spec’d assets.
  • Performed a comprehensive due diligence analysis of a 3PL for a Private Equity Group. NLA’s provided key conclusions and recommendations which ultimately resulted in funding and acquisition.
  • Performed fleet study for major grain producer that resulted in severe fleet reductions and a re-engineered distribution concept. Then performed an expansive transportation provider RFP and proceeded into chosen provider contracting, resulting in 40% reduction in transportation/distribution spend.
  • On behalf of a distressed national motor carrier, NLA negotiated with one of America’s largest transportation equipment financing facilities, forestalling the repossession of thousands of trucks and trailers. NLA reengineered client operations, and then downsized their large truck and trailer fleet, returning the company to profitability, and enabling the sale of the company without financial damage to owners, and to financiers.
